Forced into returning home in Kyrgyzstan, I promised my friend that I would join him to cross the Outback, because (as we found out in Kazakhstan), deserts aren’t fun…
I flew out to Perth, we sorted the logistics, and then, again completely unsupported, began the walk to Cardiff (just above Sydney). We crossed the entire Australian Outback, including the Nullarbor Plain, and it took six months to complete.
After crossing the Australian Outback I decided more conventional exploration was in order, and so, with another friend in Melbourne, I did some exploring around Sydney before heading down to Victoria State.
I travelled the Great Ocean Road, trekked around the Otways Rainforest National Park, and did some scrambling around the Grampian Mountains.
