Having been forced into returning home in Kyrgyzstan, I had promised my friend that I would rejoin him to cross the Outback, because as we found out in Kazakhstan, deserts aren’t fun…
I flew out to Perth, we sorted the logistics, and then, again completely unsupported, began the walk to Cardiff (just above Sydney). The walk took us right across the Australian Outback, including through the Nullarbor Plain, and took six months to complete.
After crossing the Australian Outback I decided more conventional exploration was in order, and so, with a friend in Melbourne, I did some exploring around Sydney before heading down to Victoria State.
I travelled the Great Ocean Road, trekked around the Otways Rainforest National Park, and did some scrambling around the Grampian Mountains.
