Wales to Kyrgyzstan
In 2012 a friend and I started a project to walk, unsupported and entirely on foot, from Cardiff, Wales, to Cardiff, New South Wales, Australia.
It involved a complete traverse of the European continent, a freezing trek through Ukraine and Russia during Soviet Winter, followed by a blisteringly hot crossing of the desolate Kazakh Steppe in summer, arriving at the foot of the Tien-Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan.
There, due to various paperwork issues (and a stay in prison), I was forced home, with the plan to return to the walk at a later date.
I did return to the project in Australia to complete the walk from Perth to Cardiff (just north of Sydney).
Currently in the process of obtaining my photographs from this expedition, though it is increasingly looking like they have been lost.
